Healthy Joints
Joints can be the canary in the coal mine of ageing! Niggles, aches and pains in our joints can be a real pain in the butt, stopping us from doing the activities that we love and reminding us of the fact we are getting older...

Nature or nurture
Genetically, there is a wide range of diseases, such as rheumatoid or osteoarthritis arthritis, non-aligned joints, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which can lead to joint pain and hypermobility, but for the majority of us, as we age, our joints suffer from inflammation that we can reduce.

We just have to learn how.
Maintaining mobility
Regular physical activity maintains joint function and flexibility, with low-impact movements especially useful as we age.

Strength training can build muscle around your joints to protect them, and stretching increases flexibility, which decreases the risk of injury.

Protecting what we have
Listening to your body, avoiding repetitive stress, wearing supportive devices (from supportive shoes to walking aids) and using ergonomic seats while working all protect our posture and joints.

Regular medical check-ups are essential to spot potential issues early.
Supplementation
Some people find relief from joint pain with supplements like glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, and omega-3s, or specific combinations of these supplements.
Always consult a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement regimen.
